  • Foreign residents learned about interest rates, inflation, investments, residency and regulation
  • The talk took place at the Branch Offices in La Cala

The talk was delivered in English by Private Client Consultancy at the Branch Offices in La Cala de Mijas

The Foreigner’s Department of the Mijas Town Hall held an informative talk on taxes and financial issues aimed at foreign residents. The meeting took place at the Branch Offices in La Cala and was given by the financial company Private Client Consultancy, who advised the attendees on tax issues. The councillor for foreigners, Arancha López (Cs), said that “it is essential that they have official information, mainly after the Brexit process and that they have their foreigners department close to them, that they know that we are here to help them to resolve their doubts and that is why today we are answering all those questions they have raised during the last week, to make them feel that they are part of Mijas; to make their stay here as easy as possible, always aiming to be  the bridge between them and the Town Hall”.

This second edition of informative talks covered topics related to tax updates in Spain and the financial outlook. Foreign residents learned about interest rates, inflation, investments, residency and regulation. “Spain is a wonderful place to live, but as a foreigner the paperwork is often difficult to deal with, so we wanted to help them understand as much as they can, whether it be about tax, visa applications, residency, domicile, even things like funeral planning, wills, succession planning, everything to do with finances; at the end of the day, we are a financial firm that manages wealth, but we start by making sure we protect what they have so they don’t lose it, said Private Client Consultancy managing partner Kevin Birtles. The participants experienced a day of integration in Mijas where they learned how the country’s bureaucracy works and how changes in the law affect them.
