Residents in Mijas can now pay their taxes and fees voluntarily. As reported Monday morning by the councillor for Finance, Roy Pérez (PSOE), this period will be open until the 20th of November. "Mijas is one of the Town Halls that has a longer voluntary period. It was a measure that we took during the pandemic and that we continue to maintain because we know that there are many families in Mijas who benefit from this flexibility when it comes to paying their taxes", recalled the councillor.
There are three ways to pay the taxes and fees of the Mijas Town Hall: in person, at any of the municipal offices; through the electronic office with digital certificate or electronic ID; or through the express payment platform that "allows any registered resident to pay their taxes in a comfortable and easy manner, from any place, device and at any time of the day. All you need to do is enter your ID document and date of birth or the number of your tax receipt or registration number".
On the other hand, those who wish to do so can "pay by direct debit to obtain a 5% discount on their taxes", adds Pérez, who reminds that this procedure must be requested at least "15 days before the first payment is made". In the case of the IBI, the first payment will be made on the 10th of March, rubbish tax on the 5th of April and the road tax on the 5th of May. In addition to the direct debit, the Mijas Town Hall offers its residents the possibility of paying taxes and fees in instalments.
The tax calendar for 2023 can now be consulted through the Town Hall electronic office with digital certificate or electronic ID.
