The Mijas Town Hall celebrates on Tuesday, 28th February, the Day of Andalusia, on the 43rd anniversary of the referendum in favour of Andalusian autonomy. The event, as is now tradition, will take place at the Andalusia Park in Las Lagunas at 12 noon. The day will be marked by the traditional hoisting of the white and green flag, a day of celebration that will be enlivened by various musical performances and to which all residents who wish to join in the commemoration of 28F are invited.

Also, as every year, the council, through the Department for Senior Citizens, invites all the elderly of the municipality to a typical breakfast at the pensioners' homes of the three centres. In Mijas Pueblo it will be from 9 to 11 a.m., while in Las Lagunas and La Cala the timetable for the breakfast, in which the characteristic bread with olive oil of our land will not be missing, is from 9.30 to 11.30 a.m.
