Córdoba street in Calahonda now has a separate rainwater and sewage network

Between 2019 and 2023 it is planned that about 5 million euros will be invested from the water cannon

Of the total amount of the water bill paid by the residents of the municipality, Acosol reserves an amount per cubic meter that goes entirely to the improvement of infrastructure.

Between 2019 and 2023 it is planned that about 5 million euros will be invested from the water cannon. 300,000 has been earmarked for the implementation of the separate network of rainwater and sewage in Cordoba Street in Calahonda.

“A separate network for sewage has been executed with a 300 millimeter pipe and almost 160 metres, and for rainwater with a 400 millimetre pipe and 240 linear metres, which will solve the problems of rainwater evacuation, especially when we are dealing with certain volumes, and we also eliminated the unitary network we had to achieve integral sanitation and zero discharge”, explained the councillor for Works and Infrastructures of the Mijas Town Hall, José Carlos Martín (Cs).

The Mijas Town Hall has been in charge of requesting this work, which has had an execution period of two months, while Acosol has been the company responsible for putting the work out to tender.

“The proposal is from the Town Hall, which is responsible for managing the cannon, and from there we monitor the work while Acosol bids, contracts and executes all these interventions”, said councillor Martin, who added that “around 0.08 cents per cubic metre is the amount dedicated to this type of investment, it is a target canon, which is only to be used to finance works to improve the infrastructure and not for any other purpose”.
