More than one hundred people participated in the campaign promoted by the Mijas Town Hall to support local commerce. The only requirement to take part in this initiative was to present proof of purchases made in establishments in the municipality at the Commerce Delegation for a minimum value of 10 euros. Last Friday 23rd of January, the gifts raffled on the 16th of January and which have been donated by the collaborating companies were handed out. "The objective has been achieved, which was to encourage Christmas shopping in businesses in the municipality and to involve all our neighbours, I would also like to thank all our businesses who have offered to continue promoting local commerce", said the councillor responsible for the area, Natalia Martínez (PSOE).
Lunches and dinners for two people, weekend getaways with accommodation and dinner included, and overnight accommodation with breakfast and spa. These were the prizes drawn. "I am very grateful for this prize, for the great initiative of the Mijas Town Hall to promote shopping in the municipality of Mijas", said one of the participants and winner of a meal for two, Esther Ramos.
Hasna Elhiba, another of the participants and winner of a dinner for two, declared that she "signed up on the last day because a colleague told me about it, I took the supermarket ticket and I won". The other winners were Alejandra Gómez, Rocío Fernández, Melanie Liñán, Cristóbal Cruz and Mari Carmen Martín.
Companies such as the TRH Mijas Hotel have supported the Town Hall campaign. "Councillor Natalia Martínez contacted me to explain this idea of promoting purchasing in local shops and we decided to put ourselves at her disposal through the hotel and thus do our bit so that, little by little, this could work to the benefit of all and be a success”, assured the representative.
In addition to the TRH Mijas Hotel, Idiliq Group, the beach bars Los Delfines and Elías and the travel agency Wanderlust have collaborated with this campaign.
