The Mijas Town Hall continues with the works in the V Urbanisation Asphalting Plan which began last week in the area of Doña Pilar. This is an initiative that will affect fifteen residential complexes, acting on 47 streets along 15 kilometres of roads with an investment of 1,626,565.95 euros. The councillor for Infrastructures and Works within the local council, José Carlos Martín (Cs), announced on Wednesday the 4th that work was being carried out in the Mijas Golf and El Coto urbanisations. Specifically, in the former, Avenida de Francia and Calle Madrid were being asphalted, at a cost of 226,754.15 euros, while in the latter, work was being carried out in the Codornices, Eurogallo, Rebeco and El Corzo streets, with an investment of 152,828.99 euros. The objective, according to the also deputy mayor of Mijas, is that the streets included in this fifth plan “see the improvement in road surfacing that is so necessary to guarantee the safety of both vehicle and pedestrian traffic”. “We are talking about urbanisations, streets, which have not benefited from tarmac repairs for years, which meant that in many cases the asphalt was very deteriorated. Therefore, with this plan these problems are eliminated and all these streets are improved”. The Mijas Town Hall apologised in advance to the residents for any inconveniences that may be caused by these works which, if the weather does not prevent it, will be finished this month, according to councillor Martín.
