Melchor, Gaspar and Baltasar will land by helicopter in the Las Lagunas Sports City at 16:00 hours and then tour the centre at 17:30 hours.
Mijas has everything ready to welcome what children - and adults - have been waiting for, for two years: The Three Wise Men’s parade. This Thursday, 5th of January, Melchor, Gaspar and Baltasar will land at the Las Lagunas Sports Complex at 16:00 hours. This was confirmed this morning by the mayor of the town, Josele González (PSOE), and the councillor for Festivities, Tamara Vera (PSOE). Their Majesties will arrive in the municipality by helicopter and then make three tours through the streets of Mijas Pueblo, Las Lagunas and La Cala.
"The 5th is undoubtedly one of the favourite days of the year for our children. A day of excitement to greet Melchor, Gaspar and Baltasar in person and this year it will be even more special as we are bringing back the traditional format of the parades, with floats passing through the different streets of our municipality", explained González.
A total of 17 floats will form part of the procession of their Majesties the Three Wise Men in Mijas. "The Three Wise Men will arrive in the municipality and will travel through it with their procession in a parade to later enter all the homes of the little ones and leave those presents that they have so longed for", said Vera, who added that this year they will finally return to travel through the streets of Mijas after two years of static parades:
"Once they have toured the different points of the municipality with the parade, the Three Wise Men will arrive at the Virgen de la Peña square, in Mijas Pueblo, where we will offer hot chocolate and the traditional roscón de reyes". In the case of La Cala, their Majesties will end their journey at La Butibamba Park, while in Las Lagunas they will arrive at the Christmas area, where the residents will also be able to enjoy the sweets and go home with a full stomach and a warm heart.
