During the plenary session on Friday 30th, the councillor for Social Services, Hipólito Zapico (PSOE), presented an urgent motion for the resolution of the discrepancy in relation to the objection of Intervention to the auditing of the granting of a nominative subsidy to the Red Cross for an amount of 100,000 euros, an item that is destined for the cash cards managed by the NGO. “It is a discrepancy that arises between the Service and the Intervention with regard to the type of budget item for the model that must be followed to provide this grant, from the Service we understand that it is one and the Intervention another”, said the councillor.

The Popular Party councillor Mario Bravo criticised the procedure carried out by the government team: “They have brought us at the last moment the payment of 100,000 euros more to the Red Cross with the report of the General Intervention because the procedure is not adequate and it is not the first time they have said so”. For her part, the non-attached councillor, Esperanza Jiménez, regretted the haste with which the opposition has been given access to this information. “I don’t know what to say, they have just brought me one last document, on a subject as important as the ‘Monedero’ Cards,” Jiménez said, to which Zapico responded that “at the time all the documentation was sent, and now we have received it from Intervention, they have a lot of work and we understand that they are saturated and, for that reason, we are bringing it now”.

When it came to the vote, all the councillors of the corporation voted in favour of the motion presented by Zapico, except the non-attached councillor Carlos Rivero, who abstained.
