Christmas also brings gestures of solidarity such as that of the association Andalusian Nomads Golf Society, which presented a cheque for 1050 euros to the Association for Disabled Persons in Mijas, Adimi. This support has been given for more than 20 years by the association, according to the president of the Andalusian Nomads Golf Society, Roger Wedge. It is all about collaborating with the association that works day after day in the municipality to help these people with disabilities, a gesture always appreciated by Adimi, "we are very grateful that associations like the one led by Roger, Andalusian Nomads Golf Society, collaborate with us year after year and especially this year since we launched the new residential service for severely affected people in January. For them all our thanks", said Laura Villa, Adimi’s manager, "We are very grateful that associations like the one led by Roger, collaborate with us year after year and especially this year, as we launched the new residential service for severely affected people in January, so we really thank them", said Laura Villa, manager of Adimi.
Adimi continues its work to defend the rights and improve the quality of life of people with intellectual disabilities and their families, a mission that is strengthened with each gesture of solidarity.
ADIMI
ADIMI are the initials of the Association for people with intellectual disabilities in Mijas, ‘Virgen de la Peña’. This non-profit group was created in September 1999 by a group of parents who had children with some kind of intellectual disability and who were moved by a series of common concerns. ADIMI's focus of action is: to fill the void that exists in society regarding the attention and care of people who have a disability and to guarantee the future wellbeing of their children, as well as, they emphasise, "to defend the rights and improve the quality of life of people with intellectual disabilities and their families in the province of Malaga.
