Three new associations are joining the solidarity tables that set up their stalls on the last Wednesday and Saturday of each month in front of the Branch Offices in La Cala de Mijas. Thus, Aristochat, Fama and Royal British Legion are now part of this solidarity initiative. On Saturday the 26th of November, these groups "joined the solidarity tables", according to the Councillor for Foreigners, Arancha López (Cs), saying that "now that Christmas is approaching, a very special time, giving solidarity as a gift is essential". The stalls have been displaying "Christmas products and objects, some of them handmade" since last Saturday, she added.
Aristochat, one of the new associations joining the solidarity market, explained what its activity consists of: "It's about finding a family for abandoned cats, those we rescue from the municipal kennels or those abandoned by some families. These cats stay with us until we find them a permanent family", explained Chantal Lancelot, president of the association.
Christmas stands
From the 3rd to the 21st of December, at the same times, from 11 to 14 hours, these groups will continue to fight for their charitable causes through this market, offering gifts, decorations and Christmas products. "Every Wednesday and Saturday until the 21st of December, all the participating associations will be offering more Christmas decorations and gifts", assured Katja Thirion from the Foreigners' Department.
