The Departments for Operational Services and Rural Roads in the Mijas Town Hall have now launched the concreting plan for rural roads in the municipality. The councillor for these areas, José Carlos Martín (Cs), reported on Thursday the 24th of November that work will be carried out on the Atalaya Macorra, Molino de la Torre, Curva del Polígono de la Torre, Finca La Katria and Cuesta Borregos roads. “We want to improve many sections of our roads, which once the annual land moving process has occured, have certain difficulties due to their slopes that make it complicated for vehicles to transit, especially when it rains, and we are carrying out the concreting of these” in particular, said councillor Martin.
Operational Services will work until the end of the year on a total of 6,000 linear metres and the investment that the government team has earmarked for this purpose amounts to 120,000 euros. “We would like to apologise to the neighbours for the inconvenience that this work may cause, but we are sure that they will be very satisfied when they finally see the result and their roads are repaired”, said Martín.
Neighbourhood appreciation
The neighbours are grateful for the collaboration and predisposition of the government team. “For us (this initiative) is something new because we have had the problem of concrete roads for six years, the neighbours have participated by pouring the concrete, or putting in some money, but this time the Town Hall has supported us and you can see that there is an improvement”, said the president of the La Atalaya Macorra neighbourhood association, Pedro Valenzuela.
