Mijas will light up Christmas on the 2nd of December. As announced on Tuesday morning by mayor Josele González (PSOE), and councillor for Fiestas, Tamara Vera (PSOE), the Christmas lights will be switched on, on Friday the 2nd of December at the fairground of Las Lagunas. 

"After lighting up La Cala and Mijas Pueblo in previous years, this time the protagonist of the traditional Christmas lights inauguration  will be the centre of Las Lagunas, which will have a large ornamental arch". All of this "will also be complemented by an extensive programme, which we will report on in the coming days and we are sure will delight young and old alike". 

In addition, as Vera explained, "as a great novelty we are going to have an element of attraction that our neighbours have been demanding, a large natural ice rink that everyone will be able to enjoy during these special dates and which will be added to the rest of the activities organised in Mijas". 

The local government invites all the residents to enjoy the Christmas festivities that will begin with the inauguration of the lights.
