Mijas is promoting its qualities as a white Mediterranean village at the Oxford Circus station in London. As reported on Tuesday morning by the mayor of the town, Josele González (PSOE), and the councillor for Tourism, José Carlos Martín (Cs), this campaign will run for a month in the London capital as part of the promotional campaign that the Provincial Council of Malaga and Costa del Sol Tourism have launched at the World Travel Market, which is being held from 7th to 9th of November.
"We have been able to see how well the image of the area of the Santana neighbourhood has been promoted in one of the busiest stations in London. Thousands of people will pass through here during the month of November and thanks to this promotion I am convinced that many of the visitors who pass through here will want to come to our municipality and will book their holidays in Mijas", said González.
For his part, Martin stresses that "we continue with our promotional campaign in the framework of the celebration of the prestigious World Travel Market. With this vinyl we open the door to our municipality in one of the main underground stations, a unique projection that complements the promotion that the Tourism Department has been doing these days at the WTM".
This promotion, which is estimated to reach around six million people, has been situated in the corridors leading to the central courtyard of the station and adds an innovative element: the promotion with the introduction of the aroma of ‘biznaga’ (jasmine) so that users of the London Underground live a sensory experience while they travel through the images of different municipalities of the Costa del Sol.
