The fairgrounds of Las Lagunas will host an equipment exhibition on Wednesday, the 5th of October, an event that is part of the provincial calendar of events programmed by the Civil Guard in Malaga to celebrate the 12th of October, the day of its patron saint, the Virgen del Pilar.

Thus, Las Lagunas fairgrounds will be the setting for displays of actions by the Ucesic (citizen security unit), Traffic, the Cinological Unit (drug and explosives dogs), Seprona, UHEL (helicopters), Gedex (explosives deactivators). In addition, there will be an exhibition of material together with mountain and laboratory equipment, and divers and a laboratory stand so families and the youngest family members can interact and have fun learning. This activity will take place from 17:00 to 19:00 hours, with free admission.

This year, for the first time in history, the Malaga Command has decided to hold events to celebrate Pilar’s Day outside the Malaga capital. The municipality chosen to host this year's event is Mijas, where various activities have been organised for the whole family, including football matches, golf tournaments, motorbike rides, and urban races.

This week, high school students will receive talks at the Las Lagunas Theatre as a prelude to the 12th of October, the day the Provincial Civil Guard will celebrate its solemn institutional act in Mijas. The day will begin at 10 am with a mass in the Inmaculada Church, followed by a ceremony in the Virgen de la Peña Square. Also, the annual decorations awards, and a military parade will take place.
