They say Mijas will continue to incorporate the latest technology into the management of the city to achieve a more efficient and more sustainable city

Mijas became a benchmark in digitised urban management at Greencities and S-Moving, the urban intelligence and sustainability forum being held on Wednesday, 21st and Thursday, 22nd, at the Malaga Trade Fair and Congress Centre. The Gecor App has recognised the city for its municipal management, which, they say, makes it easier for citizens to carry out procedures through the mobile application, highlighting, they point out, the work of the Mijas council during the pandemic by providing solutions to citizens through this App. The Councillor for Public Roads, Transport and Mobility, Nicolás Cruz (PSOE), collected the award and participated in one of the forums that took place on the Fair's opening day.

Mijas, on the road to a more sustainable and intelligent city
"Mijas is going to take part in some conferences as an example of these innovative, technological and sustainable elements in various management processes such as the Gecor application. It has been giving such good results in recent years, dealing with the incidents on public roads," said the Councillor. The founder of Gecor, José Nebro, presented him with this national award, also won by the Málaga City Council and the City Council of Puerto de Santa María in Cádiz. The application's operations director, Alberto Guzmán, said, "the App has been growing in use and downloads and the Mijas incidents' control. Also, the Town Hall responds, as, in the end, these applications aren't successful if the Town Hall does not respond. Moreover, the word-of-mouth works, and the work carried out properly makes people see their requests are addressed, and as a result, they recommend it".

Mijas, they say, will continue to incorporate the latest technology into the management of the city to achieve a modern and more sustainable city. Hikvision's manager, Ángel Maestre, stated that the video security cameras will be changed in the Local Police Headquarters, and cameras fitted in traffic control projects, vehicle control in industrial estates, and bodycam".

Work Agenda
The Public Roads, Transport and Mobility Departments arrived with a busy Agenda at the Trade Fair and Congress Centre in Malaga. "Various companies will visit us as Mijas also arouses the interest of many companies and multinationals, which see the municipality as a great opportunity to incorporate their products and services. We also want local companies and supra-municipal entities to know what we are doing in areas such as public roads, transport, mobility, tourism or cleaning management, applying digitised technology in their functions," concluded Cruz.

Greencities and S-Moving finished at the Malaga Trade Fair and Congress Centre after bringing together more than 250 experts in sustainability, urban management, and intelligent mobility.
