The First Deputy Mayor and Councillor for Operational Services, José Carlos Martín (PSOE), announced the Municipal Pavement Renovation Plan began a new remodelling project in Los Naranjos Street, in Mijas Pueblo, worth 52,227 euros with a completion period of approximately two months. "We continue with this project in which local workers improve and conserve the municipality's infrastructures. Specifically, this work will replace the old flooring, already badly damaged over the years, with new parchment-type flooring that is much more modern, comfortable and practical, as well as keeping with the aesthetics of the rest of the municipality," said the Councillor.

Martín added that besides the new paving, the works upgrade the public lighting network, new tree boxes, and an irrigation network for the trees. "At the moment, there is no vegetation in the area, and we are taking the chance to introduce them. The surface area is 350 square metres of paving and, as a whole, all of this will improve the residents' quality of life with a boost to infrastructure and services," said the Councillor.

These works will also serve to enhance the Acosol water network supply. "We are gradually remodelling the roads in our municipality. The pavement with the Municipal Pavement Renovation Plan, the road with the Asphalt Conservation and Maintenance Plan, the Urbanisation Asphalt Plan, and the Asphalt Improvement and Patching Plan. In short, constant and permanent lines of work that are improving the city and, in turn, are eliminating architectural barriers", concludes the First Deputy Mayor.
