  • It aims at long-term unemployed people over 45 years old
  • The Councillor for Employment, Laura Moreno.

The application period starts on August 29th, and will end on September 15th

Mijas Town Hall announced, last Tuesday 16th, from the area of Employment Promotion, a new course in Social and Health Care for Dependents in Social Institutions. It has a duration of 450 hours, and the students will dedicate 370 hours to training and 80 hours to work experience in home help companies.

The Councillor for Employment, Laura Moreno (PSOE), explained that the course aims at a specific profile: "people over 45 years of age; long-term unemployed, specifically those who have been unemployed for at least nine months in the last 18 months. Those receiving a minimum income and have the title of ESO (Compulsory Secondary Education) or equivalent".

Applications can be submitted at the Employment Promotion Department of the Mijas Town Hall from 29th August until 15th September, or online through the Junta de Andalucía's website. It starts on 17th October and ends on 14th March. It will be held in the mornings, from 9 to 2 pm, from Monday to Friday.

The Councillor highlighted the importance of this type of course due to the great demand from the companies that contact them and the professional opportunities it offers. "The course aims to be an opportunity for those who have recently lost their jobs or are looking to get their working life back on track," Moreno pointed out.

Anyone interested can check the municipal website (www.mijas.es) or go to Employment Promotion (Avenida Andalucía in Las Lagunas), and "there, you will get more information", concluded the Councillor.
