Extinguished the fire that started last Sunday in the 'Majadilla Alta' area

Some 14 forest firefighters and two fire engines continued to cool the area last Monday morning

On Monday 25th at 1:45 pm, Infoca declared the fire that started last Sunday afternoon in 'La Majadilla Alta'  extinguished. Throughout the morning, 14 forest firefighters and two fire engines continued to work in the area to refresh the area affected by the flames.

A burning vehicle, the cause

Last Sunday, 24th, at 10.47 pm, Infoca stated on its official Twitter account that the cause of the fire that affected the 'Majadilla Alta' forest had been a vehicle that went up in flames on the AP-7 kilometre 203, near Entrerríos. The fire started at around 5.30 pm, was stable at 7.20 pm, and was under control at 2 am last Monday.

Infoca resources were at the scene after receiving the warning: 1 Brica Super Puma helicopter (K-70), two helicopters (I-7, M-7), 1 Gremaf command helicopter (H-4), 2 Kamov (KZ-0, K.4 ),one aircraft (ACOA), two ground chartered aircraft (T-4, T-7), 1 FOCA, 3 TOPs, 2 Brica, three fire engines and 80 ground troops, 1 UNASIF, 1 UNASIF, 1 UMIF, and 1 AAMM.

During the action, several houses near the source of the fire were evacuated as a precautionary measure, and the 112 Emergency Service stated it was necessary to close the right lane of the toll motorway.

For his part, the Mayor of Mijas, Josele González (PSOE), already pointed out on his Facebook account the reasons that caused this fire: "A car driving along the motorway, the possible initial cause of the forest fire declared this afternoon in the area of 'Majadilla Alta Calanova".
