This Friday, from Mijas Town Hall, the Councillor for Contracting, Roy Pérez (PSOE), invited all interested companies to apply for the tender for the asphalting works of streets in 15 urbanisations in Mijas. "They can apply until 19th July, at seven o'clock in the evening. They can do so through the state contracting platform. They can submit their bids in due time and form. Once the deadline has expired, the contracting tables will begin to award the works," said the Councillor.

The works, Pérez added, are "necessary". The tender has been divided into 15 lots. "Any company can bid for the 15 tenders," said the Councillor for Infrastructures and Works, José Carlos Martín (Cs), who explained that "we are talking about urbanisations such as Ana María, Buganvilla, urbanisation Calahonda, Campo Mijas, Chalé de Rocío, Cortijo de Calahonda, Doña Pilar, El Coto, Gran Calahonda, La Sierrezuela, Los Olivos Phase I and Phase II, Mijas Golf, Miraflores and Playa Marina, and not only will the paving be renewed but also the signage".

It is the 5th Asphalting Plan of subsidies in kind for urbanisations. "This fifth asphalt plan is in addition to the previous ones, which means an investment of 2,600,000 euros in urbanisations. The annual average is 500,000 euros, which means allocating more money to the maintenance and conservation of urbanisation areas each year. It has been a long time since all these urbanisations were re-asphalted," said Martín.

According to the Councillor, "they are already working on the VI Asphalting Plan", which, he assured, will be developed next year, responding, he pointed out, "to the needs of other urbanisations".
