A new aid programme that promotes youth employment development in Andalusian municipalities, 'Joven Ahora', has arrived, allowing 13,333 unemployed young people between 18 and 29 years old, to benefit . The local autonomous entities will implement this project. "'Joven Ahora' provides six months of experience to young people under the age of 30, who need this first opportunity", highlighted the delegate for Employment, Carmen Sánchez. She added, " the second help we offer for groups facing difficulties in finding work, such as these young people, is training. Training is the best active employment policy".

Mijas will develop this initiative with a budget of 120 million euros, distributed among the municipalities of the eight Andalusian provinces. The Mayor of the town, Josele González (PSOE), affirmed that "we have been making good plans for the aid we can combine with what we already have in place in the Town Hall through the Town Council's Employment Department. Above all, we can continue generating opportunities and synergies through the different administrations as we are at a time we cannot discard any aid or collaboration".

  • Young people will receive tutoring and specialised guidance through the Andalusian Employment Service professionals |

This Friday, representatives of the Costa del Sol and Guadalhorce region town councils met at CioMijas to learn about this programme and how to join it. The City Councils and local autonomous entities can access an incentive of 9,000 euros for each contract they carry out for six months full-time.

"We are a benchmark in terms of training and employment. The Town Hall promotes clear and personalised programmes, such as the Basic Income programme, the Mijas Impulsa programme or any other training programme through the Training and Employment Building. So, we are going to take advantage of the day. We come with our ears wide open, and the whole Employment Promotion team is here", highlighted the Mijas Mayor.

In these municipal projects, young people will receive tutoring and specialised guidance through the Andalusian Employment Service professionals.

The 'Junta de Andalucía' is implementing nine measures to alleviate youth unemployment figures, as unemployment among the most vulnerable groups or help the self-employed is paramount. "The Junta de Andalucía offers them 4,500 euros to invest in what they need in those first steps, and we also have an open call for Labour Risk Prevention grants", Sánchez stressed.

The local markets are the most dynamic when generating employment opportunities and adjusting professional profiles to the sectors that create employment.
