“With this invitation to tender for the project design of the new Fire Station, the Emergency School is also included,” said the Mayor, Josele González (PSOE). He explained that the facilities will be placed “finally on a plot next to IES Vega de Mijas, connected to the motorway to ensure a rapid response to emergencies in urban areas, forests and scattered areas”.
The tender for drafting the execution project has a budget of 75,000 euros. “All those companies that decide to bid for this tender can do so until 16th June through the State Contracting platform”, added the Councillor for Works and Infrastructures, José Carlos Martín (Cs), who reported that with this infrastructure, “the park will increase from the current 1,000 square metres to a surface area of 4,600 m2”. The land where this new infrastructure will be in Las Lagunas near the IES La Vega. It connects to the motorway, and allows effective action in the three centres. In February last year, Mijas finalised the basic project to provide the municipality with a new building. The first step before tendering the drafting of the project, which, in addition to two separate buildings, will have parking, manoeuvring and practice areas, a trainig pool and green areas too.
