Mijas promotes the Coastal Path with new exclusive graphic material

  • The Tourism Department has published 5,000 promotional leaflets about the Coastal Path in Spanish and English
  • You can find detailed information about the services and places of interest on the Coastal Path map

The aim is to encourage visitors to visit one of the most important attractions of the town

The First Deputy Mayor and Councillor for Tourism, José Carlos Martín (Cs), presented this morning the new leaflet that will now be available in the city's tourist offices and which contains all the Coastal Path information. "We wanted to publish a leaflet exclusively on this exceptional route in the province as it has the only Blue Trail distinction in Malaga," says the Councillor. He stresses that "this infrastructure has a rich flora and fauna and a welcoming landscape that invites anyone who visits it to immerse themselves in a walk surrounded by nature and bathed by the Mediterranean Sea".

In this way, the Tourism Department promotes the routes through the most emblematic points of the Mijas ecosystem, providing visitors with all the information that may be of interest to carry out their experience. "Outdoor sports is another of the activities that travellers demand when they choose our destination. The routes through the mountains along this coastal alternative position as another attraction for lovers of the ecosystem," adds Martin.

Thus, this brochure is translated into Spanish and English to reach the foreign public. "In the new material, we wanted to reflect the most important information of each section and show the most striking photographs that invite you to walk or do physical exercise in this beautiful environment," says the Councillor.

This leaflet details the location and services available to tourists who visit us: beach bars, public services, showers, lifeguards in high season, information panels on fauna and flora, health services, hotels and aparthotels, campsites, watchtowers and parks, to mention but a few.

Tourist promotion

The Department coordinated by Martín promotes the main tourist segments of the town: sun and beach, golf, typical Andalusian village, nature, sport, gastronomy and handicrafts. The sector in Mijas is gradually recovering and the forecasts are encouraging despite the pandemic, positioning the numbers above those recorded in 2019.

The tourist destination has managed to stand out in the last two years, especially the national public who have been the most loyal since the health crisis. Mijas has been named Capital of Rural Tourism in Malaga 2022, and last year, it made it into the top 20 rural coastal destinations in Spain and increased its searches on eBooking by 69 per cent. This season's 'The selfie route' campaign has just been launched. One of the spots selected as one of the 15 favourite places for the multinational Nutella to visit this summer using one of its photographs on one of the packaging of the special edition 'Lo Bueno lo Tenemos en Casa' (We have the good stuff at home).
