On Mother Earth International Day, Friday 22nd April, the Mijas Town Council's Environment Department has presented a new audiovisual campaign, which will be shown on social networks and the different Mijas Communication media.

The initiative, explained by the Councillor, Arancha López (Cs), aims to raise awareness about respect and care for our natural environment, "remembering that we must have good habits when we are enjoying nature. Habits that we sum up in a single sentence: Everything that goes into the backpack must go back into the backpack!

All waste, López insisted, should be put in the rubbish "as leaving it behind results in scenes that are not pleasant, as well as the pollution problems that go with it".

According to López, the video produced by the Environment Department in collaboration with Mijas Communication presents images of human beings' impact on nature, " just to raise awareness that we must be responsible when we come to enjoy our surroundings. Especially in spring, as people are doing more hiking trails and other outdoor activities"
