The work to renovate the pavements and improve accessibility to four streets in Sector-31 in Las Lagunas. The works are already 60 per cent complete and are scheduled for completion in April.
The streets being worked on are Álvaro Mutis, Pablo Neruda, Octavio Paz and León Felipe. These works began in January and are scheduled to be completed by the end of April, "despite the rains in recent weeks, which have delayed us, we are still on schedule", said the Operational Services Councillor José Carlos Martín (Cs), this morning during an area visit.
The renovation consisted of improving accessibility, eliminating all architectural barriers and using signs adapted for people with autism at pedestrian crossings. The aim is also to homogenise the street aesthetic image with the rest of the urban environment.
The action is worth 125,000 euros, "includes the surface renovation of these four streets that extends over 1,450 square metres, and has been developed by the Operational Services," said Martín. When this work in Las Lagunas is finished, "the group is already planning to move to La Cala de Mijas, where another area around the Boulevard has yet to be renovated," announced the Councillor.
