Haze stained the province's skies red

  • In terms of recommendations, the haze means high levels of dust and suspended particles.

The atmosphere, ladened with dust from the Sahara, unloaded rain with mud and made streets and cars dirty

Yesterday, we woke up to a reddish sky and with the streets and cars full of red dust, this is the Saharan haze. This dust in suspension reached the peninsula due to the Celia storm winds, which dragged it and caused it to rain mud.

According to Meteored, Spain became the "most polluted" country in the world by Saharan particles, which come from nature but are still harmful to health. It is estimated that the haze will be present until Thursday and that it will rain throughout the week, although with much less intensity than last Monday.

In terms of recommendations, the haze means high levels of dust and suspended particles. Particulate matter considerably affects air quality, impairs vision, creates eye irritation and can cause respiratory problems. Self-protection is the best prevention, so it is recommended to monitor people with respiratory problems, hydrate well, wear a mask as it reduces irritation, do not ventilate the house, avoid outdoor sports and physical activities and take extreme precautions on the road. However, haze also has positive effects. Among others, it reduces the possibility of tropical storms and is a natural fertilizer for the ocean and soils.
