The Mijas Town Hall Works and Infrastructures Councillor, José Carlos Martín (Cs), visited, this Tuesday, the works of the new Road Safety Education Park in Las Lagunas, located between Ciprés Street and Dinamarca Avenue, which is already 90 per cent complete. "So, if all goes well, the facilities could open to the public during the second half of March," said the First Deputy Mayor.
According to Martín, the paving work has already been completed on this 2,700 square metre leisure and recreational area, which, among its main features, offers a road safety education circuit "so that children can learn the basic rules of the road and signposting in a more fun way". In this respect, added Martín, "in addition to the games that the children can play with their families, we are planning to organise school cycles and courses in the municipality".
The Councillor went on to explain that these days work is also being carried out on the electrical installation, the exterior fencing and the street furniture installation, "which includes several pergolas to provide shade, the typical benches and fountains, as well as two sustainable and modular toilets, and another room that will act as a storeroom".
