The Danish Church Margrethekirken organised a day in which two documentaries, about the municipality, were shown

According to 2021 data, Mijas is the second municipality in the province with the highest number of Danish residents: 749. Over the years, they have integrated very well, participating in the town's social life. They show interest in our customs and our history. Proof of it is the day organised by the Margrethekirken Danish Church in Las Lagunas, where a series of talks and screenings were held. The talk was given by the journalist, Pia Bruun, and the former  Mijas Town Hall Foreigners' Head Department, Anette Skou. "We are going to show how Mijas has changed, and there has been a lot of interest in attending, which shows us that the new residents are interested in understanding Mijas identity more easily," said Bruun.

For his part, Skou stated that "we are going to explain Mijas history from the ‘40s to the ‘60s because there has been a lot of interest from the Danes". During this event, two Mijas documentaries were shown, one in English, from 1955. "It is fantastic how they lived back then, the mills, the paper mill, you are surprised how different life was back then", said Skou.

And another, produced by Mijas Comunicación in 2008, 'El camino de la historia' in Spanish, English subtitled. All the material that formed part of this recording was shot in 8mm and belonged to a collection of an English resident who wanted to donate it to the Mijas Town Hall Foreigners' Department. "A documentary was made with this material. Also, a comparison of Mijas, in the '50s and '60s with Mijas in 2008, was also made". These Mijas history days will continue next autumn.
