The hotel La Zambra (formerly Byblos) has been included in the prestigious Forbes magazine, as one of the ten exciting new hotels to open in Europe this year, according to 'Diario Sur'. The highest quality of service is assured in a five-star Grand Luxe establishment, which will be managed by Marugal, a company specialising in the development of unique hotels.
"It is the only one in Spain included in this list. It will be the most exciting hotel to open in Spain in 2022," says the Mayor of Mijas, Josele González (PSOE). "It will mean an increase in the quality of tourism, at a local level, in Mijas, by having a five-star luxury hotel again. It means that we are working towards putting Mijas back on the international map," adds the Councillor for Tourism, José Carlos Martín (Cs).
According to those in charge of La Zambra, the hotel complex will open to the public in June, and the aim, they say, is to position it, once again, as an emblem of luxury on the Costa del Sol. It will have a 2,000-metre spa and wellness centre, recreational areas and a private area for meetings and events. It also boasts a privileged location, nestling between golf courses and offering tranquillity, privacy and total relaxation. González assures that it will be placed "at the same level as large hotels, many of which are going to reopen with conditions similar to those of the Byblos".
