The Mayor of Mijas, Josele González (PSOE), and the Councillor for Infrastructures, José Carlos Martín (Cs), have announced that Mijas will receive nearly one and a half million euros, specifically 1,451,556.61 euros, from Mancomunidad and Acosol for the replacement of the biological system of the WWTPs and the installation of photovoltaic solar panels at the Cerro del Águila treatment plant.
"With this concession, we will be able to replace the biological system of the WWTP with a fine bubble diffuser system that is more efficient and has lower energy consumption. In a plant that serves a municipality like ours, with more than 91,000 inhabitants, it is essential to continue to be committed to sustainability and care for the environment," said the Mijas Councillor. For his part, the Councillor for Infrastructures, José Carlos Martín, underlined the "commitment to respect for the environment and the use of renewable energies such as photovoltaic, is something we have been working on, and proof of this, will be these actions at the Cerro del Águila plant, which will improve the quality of service provided by the plant".
