The Mijas Town Council's Department of Vehicle Fleet continues to invest in the renovation of vehicles. The latest acquisitions are two backhoe loaders capable of carrying out work in any environment. These will replace the old mixed machines which had already accumulated 20 years of service, many hours of work and also many hours in the workshop. "Our workers will be safer and the work will be more efficient and will be carried out in less time, the technology used will allow better results than the old machines, in addition to the fact that they will represent a significant economic saving for the municipal treasury because the old ones spent a lot of time in the workshops", argued the councillor responsible for Parque Móvil, Mariló Olmedo (Cs).
These two backhoe loaders will allow different jobs to be carried out in any circumstances, as they are versatile machines with a wide variety of accessories. "These machines do not lack any detail, as we have acquired all their accessories, different buckets, with clearing equipment, a pneumatic hammer and, above all, they have that modernity and comfort that the old ones did not have".

Latest generation
The investment made by the government team in these two JCB backhoe loaders, model 3CX, amounts to 225,000 euros. "We are talking about the latest generation machinery, which also provides us with care for the environment, as they emit less CO2 emissions, consume less and mean savings for the City Council in supply," said Olmedo.
These mixed machines have a high-performance engine, are easy to use, and are more efficient, both from the point of view of consumption and maintenance. They also offer the worker comfort and safety when carrying out his work. "These machines can get into all kinds of places and do all kinds of jobs, but it is also true that if you don't buy all the accessories we have bought, they are more limited. These machines are the all-terrain vehicle within the machinery because of their capacity to reach everywhere and carry out different functions", explained the First Deputy Mayor and Councillor for Operational Services, José Carlos Martín (Cs), who added that "they allow us to clear rural roads, condition, load, clean, which is why these machines are so useful, as they have a double function, with a shovel at the front and an articulated arm at the back".
At present, the Town Council's fleet is made up of a total of 175 vehicles, of which 59 provide services to the municipality under the 'renting' modality and the rest are owned by the City Council.
