The Andalusian Health Service is now opening the self-quote for childhood vaccination against COVID-19 for children who were born in 2013, i.e. children aged eight years. The specific preparation for them is from Pfizer and, in addition to containing a smaller amount of active ingredient, it separates the two doses with an interval of eight weeks instead of three.
Therefore, those who were born in 2013, join the population aged between 9 and 11 years who, since last week, have been vaccinated throughout Andalucía in health centres and external points, although it is also planned that they will be able to do so, in mobile units. The appointment for the second dose will be given at the time of vaccination or a call will be made afterwards to schedule it.
The SAS also reminds us that yesterday it opened the self-appointment schedules so that people who received AstraZeneca can receive the booster dose. They will be administered messenger RNA vaccine (Pfizer or Moderna). Specifically, people who received a two-dose course of AstraZeneca at least three months ago, regardless of whether they have had COVID infection before or after vaccination; people who have had the disease and then received a dose of AstraZeneca or vice versa, will be eligible for this booster dose. Pregnant women with these conditions are also recommended to be vaccinated.
For the time being, people who received an AstraZeneca dose and then an mRNA dose (Pfizer or Moderna), or vice versa, are not eligible for this booster dose. In addition, from now on, professionals working in-home help will also be able to make an appointment to receive the booster dose.
How to make an appointment
Appointments can be made through the usual channels: the SAS website via Clic Salud+, the mobile application and the Salud Responde telephone number at 955 54 50 60 and also at your health centre, preferably by telephone. Only people over the age of 60 can go to walk-in points.
