The holidays are here, and Mijas Secrets, the programme organised by the Foreigners Department of the Town Hall, welcomes them in the best possible way: the participants toured Mijas Pueblo last Sunday, December 12th, with the route 'Mijas, sweet Christmas'. "We continue with this programme, organised a few months ago by the Department so that foreign residents of Mijas and other nearby municipalities can visit the town and get to know our culture, our traditions and our most beautiful corners", explained the Councillor for the area, Arancha López (Cs).

In this case, "we took advantage of the fact that the residents of Mijas have set up a route of solidarity trees and we have used it to make a Christmas walk through the city", linking with "the route of the sweets passing through different establishments and houses of Mijas residents who have collaborated by preparing some typical sweets such as fritters, egg doughnuts or nougat," said the tourist guide of the program, Sandra Gallardo. In addition, the participants were also able to taste the typical mulled wine.

And for those who missed this first Christmas route, they can still participate in the next one, as "there will be a new opportunity to get to know and taste these typical Mijas sweets, which will take place on Sunday, December 19th," said the Councillor, adding that "to participate you just have to contact the email that we provide (mijassecrets@gmail.com) from the area or directly with the Department of Foreigners (frd@mijas.es)".
