The plan to renew the rubber flooring of all the playgrounds in Mijas has been completed

  • In this playground, apart from renewing the rubber flooring, a multi-game area and a perimeter security fence have been installed
  • Two new play elements and a perimeter fence have also been installed in this park.

These works have concluded with the reform of the Vicente Aleixandre park, in Las Cañadas

Mijas Town Hall has concluded the renovation plan of all the playgrounds in the municipality. These works have concluded this week with the renovation of the Vicente Aleixandre playground in Las Cañadas, where two new play elements and a perimeter fence have also been installed. This was confirmed on Tuesday 16th, by the Councillor for Parks and Gardens, Laura Moreno (PSOE), who said that "the rubber flooring has been renewed, the multi-games area have also been installed and the safety perimeter has also been made, which was much needed because the park is on the roadside; it was appropriate to put this safety barrier so that children are safe in this area of Las Cañadas". The replacement of the rubber flooring, Moreno points out, "makes the environment safer, as it is thicker, and thus adapts to the new regulations".

Two new play elements and a perimeter fence have also been installed in this park.

A see-saw and a multi-game playground add to the fun in this park, which, although small, has not been left out of the plan to improve all the children's play areas that have been carried out throughout the municipality. "We cannot leave any of them behind because, as part of this plan to improve all the rubber flooring, we are also modifying the safety perimeters, as many of these parks did not have this perimeter and it is necessary that the children's areas are delimited for the peace of mind of parents and the overall safety of the children in our municipality", added the Councillor.

  • The safety perimeter includes a climbing frame to increase the safety of the children.

The safety perimeter includes a security barrier so as to increase the safety of the little ones. It leads to the area with bio-healthy elements, which are mainly used by grandparents who accompany their grandchildren to the park.

In recent weeks, Parks and Gardens have completed major renovations of these spaces, such as La Muralla (Mijas Pueblo), which has been completely refurbished and includes games with the donkey as the protagonist, and a zip wire. Also, in Virgen de la Peña Square (Mijas Pueblo) an area, which lacked children's play elements, has been created, and it has become a meeting point for many children.
