La Cala will continue to undergo work. The streets of Nerja and Casarabonela will soon change their appearance, both inside and out, as they will undergo a complete refurbishment. Mijas Town Hall is putting these works out to tender for 347,000 euros. This was announced yesterday by the Councillor for Contracting, Roy Pérez (PSOE), who invited "all interested companies to participate in the bidding process of these specifications, they have from 8th to 23th November to apply; they must do so from the State Contracting Platform, where they will find the technical and administrative specifications and all the documentation, which will facilitate the study and analysis of the project to submit their bid".

With this action, all the services and infrastructures in the area will be renewed, as well as the paving and pavements. "In this case, in addition, a separate rainwater and sewage network will be installed, a new public lighting, supply and telecommunications network and, above all, the paving will be improved by eliminating these architectural barriers, an aspect we have been working on throughout this time", added the councillor for Infrastructures and Works, José Carlos Martín (Cs).

The works have a completion period of four months and are scheduled to begin in early 2022, coinciding with the completion of the work on Calle Marbella, which is currently on schedule.

Improvement plan in La Cala

These actions are in line with other major refurbishments carried out in La Cala in recent years, mainly aimed at solving the area's flooding problems. "Here, we have carried out comprehensive reforms, practically throughout the whole area, such as the work on Calle Antequera, Avenida Andalucía, Calle Butibamba, actions focused on eliminating flooding problems in the area," said Martín
