Vaccination without an appointment in Mijas will have a new scenario next week in the municipality. From Monday, October 18th to Friday, October 22nd, citizens who so wish may be vaccinated in the mobile unit that will be installed at the entrance to the La Cala fairgrounds. “Citizens do not have to be from the municipality, anyone who is from the Andalusian autonomous community, who passes by the mobile unit and has not been vaccinated can go in and be vaccinated”, said the councillor for Health of the Mijas Town Hall, María del Carmen González (Cs).
The hours will be from 10:30 to 14:30 and from 16:00 to 19:00 hours. The call is for those born in 2009 or earlier, that is, 12 years of age or older, who will be given the dose of Pfizer or Moderna vaccines, according to the Costa del Sol Primary Care District, which organises these days. “It is about facilitating ,as far as possible, being able to reach the population that, although there are not many, are still pending vaccination”, said the councillor to add that this possibility was offered to the Local Council. “Everything that has been needed has been provided and, as of today, it is about promoting it as much as possible”, González clarified.
A weapon against COVID-19
The councillor also wanted to encourage the entire population that has not yet been vaccinated to do so. “I encourage those people who have not yet been able or who have doubts about whether to get vaccinated to not hesitate, to do so, as it is something that we are seeing to be effective and right now it is the most powerful weapon we have against this situation”, she pointed out. One of the requirements is that minors between 12 and 15 years old, both ages included, must be accompanied by their father, mother or guardian.
