The earthquake occurred at around 23:30h yesterday and had its epicentre in Cijuela (Granada), although initially it was reported that the centre was in Chimeneas, with a magnitude of 4.2. According to the National Geographic Institute, it is a 4.5 magnitude earthquake, just 5 kilometres deep.
The tremor was felt, in addition to Granada, in various parts of the province of Malaga, including Mijas, without there being any evidence so far that it has caused personal or material damage.
Minutes later, the earth moved again in Santa Fe, when another tremor recorded, with a magnitude of 3.1, ten kilometres deep, was registered.
