The Pidetaxi app joins both the website (https://www.taximijas.es) and the telephone exchange (952 478 288) and thus facilitates the reservation of the service for citizens. In the words of the councillor for Transport and Mobility in Mijas, Nicolás Cruz (PSOE), it is about “further facilitating access to the service in a comfortable and useful way. It is a service that we bet on from the Mijas Town Hall, because it is safe, reliable and economical compared to other alternatives that have been created in the market and that are more unstable from the point of view of reliability, hygiene & safety and security".
The application is available for both IOS and Android, and it is quick and easy to use. “When you open the app, it will geo-locate you, confirm the place of origin, and then it will ask you for a destination and the estimated price will automatically appear, since we still cannot give a closed price because the Andalusian Government has not regulated these yet. Then you will also see the duration of the journey and the kilometres it will cover”, explained, on the other hand, the president of the Radio Taxi Mijas association, Rafael Bonilla.
With this application, the Costa del Sol is presented as a single unit when accessing the taxi service. “Many of the trips are provided between municipalities given their proximity and because they are interconnected urban centres. Given this, it is a very good idea to unify this application with all the municipalities that make up the Western Costa de Sol, from Malaga Capital to Sabinillas. We believe that it will be a useful option and will be widely used by citizens”, pointed out the councillor.
Another advantage of Pidetaxi is the option provided to reserve a taxi at a specific date and time, registering this on the system in advance.
