The Council for Education and Sports of the Board has awarded the contract for the construction works of the new School for Secondary Education in Las Lagunas for an amount of 5.5 million euros. This new educational centre will have six lines, which will mean creating a total of 720 new school places to absorb the existing demand in the area.
The building will stand on a 7,358-square-metre plot located next to the Indira Gandhi public school. The company awarded the works, Lirola Ingeniería y Obras S. L., has a period of 18 months to carry them out. The new high school will have, in the teaching area, 24 multipurpose high school classrooms, a library, a gym room with changing rooms, two music classrooms, two plastic classrooms and two workshop classrooms, two laboratories, 10 departments and six double purpose classrooms for pedagogical reinforcement. There will also be a special education classroom with its corresponding specially adapted toilets.
