To the clearing work carried out by the personnel of Operational Services, Basic Income and the 'Aire' Plan, we must add the intensive plan that the Department of Parks and Gardens launched last April through a specialized company. “This clearing plan is nearing completion. The company will return in April or May and now we will continue with our own means. We are reaching the end of the contract and the objective is that all the roads are in perfect condition to avoid those fires that scare us so much in our municipality", explained the councillor for Parks and Gardens, Laura Moreno (PSOE), during a visit to the La Cala Hills area, where the latest works by this specialized company are being carried out.

In total, it has cleared 650,000 square metres of land. "We are talking about rural roads, urbanisations and municipal plots", explained the councillor. We are in a period of very high risk of fire and these tasks are essential to avoid the dreaded flames, added Moreno. "These workers are specialists in this particular task", the councillor continued explaining. Metre by metre, with their cutters, they manage to clear around 3 kilometres per person per day.

In short, the clearing of roads and plots is essential so that the roads are free of vegetation and weeds. However, the human factor is also crucial. For the municipality to be clean, and thus avoid a greater risk of fires, is up to all of us.
