The rapid response team available to provide the rescue and first-aid service in our municipality is growing every year. "We are now talking about three jet skis, seven boards, the novelty this year with the rescue drone that has the ability to reach any area and, above all, this basic life support ambulance", pointed out the Beaches councillor, José Carlos Martín (Cs), who this morning went to the Torreón beach, where the service control centre is located to get to know this new vehicle first-hand. “This ambulance is the latest model and is adapted with all modern technology, it has meant an investment of 112,000 euros. It is an advanced life support ambulance, that is, like the ones they usually have in any hospital, the only thing is that we have a basic life support team, due to the requirements that are needed, made up of an emergency technician and a nurse. The objective is to transfer the person who has had an incident to a health centre or hospital", explained the councillor.
The area has been set up so that the ambulance can be kept at the service control centre, due to the speed with which it is necessary to act in an emergency. It has all the latest technological elements installed, so that at any given time the person can be attended to during the transfer to hospital. With this new acquisition, the users on the beaches of the Mijas coastline gain in health guarantees and security.
