The construction of the water deposit in Mijas Pueblo has now been completed. The mayor of Mijas, Josele González (PSOE), the councillor for Infrastructure, José Carlos Martín (Cs), the general CEO of Acosol, Carlos Cañavate and the executive CEO of the same company, Manuel Cardeña, went last Thursday 8th to the area where the works have taken place.
The deposit has a capacity of 10,000 cubic metres and is located in the El Puerto Quarry. “We put into service one of the most important deposits to have been built in Mijas in recent years. A fundamental infrastructure for the population viability of the village and the urbanisations that surround this urban area”, said the councillor.
On his part, Martín stressed that “with the capacity that this infrastructure has, we are going to alleviate the supply problems of the residents”. In this regard, the Local Council has been the promoter of these works that have been carried out for a value of 1.3 million euros. For its part, the public water company, Acosol, has carried out the drafting, bidding and commissioning of the projects.
“This investment represents a further step in the work we do”, said Cañavate. Therefore, with regard to the financing of this infrastructure, the amount pertains to the 7 million euros approved by the Regional Government in Andalusia for the municipality in January 2019. Finally, Cardeña stressed that “this is an important day for Mijas”.
