On the 1st of July, the councillor for Foreigners of the Mijas Town Hall, Arancha López (Cs), met with the members of the La Cala Lions Club to welcome the new president. David Key is the person chosen to lead that association for the next year. It is a position that is renewed every year and that is chosen by the members of the group themselves. “We have met to get to know each other and establish new contacts to work hand in hand and design collaborations”, explained the councillor, who added that “there have been many ideas that have been put on the table and above all the main reason, that is, to help those most in need in the municipality”.
Thanks to Graham
In addition, councillor Arancha López also wanted to show her gratitude to the former president: “I want to thank Mr. Graham, for his great collaboration and for the good actions that he has carried out”. For his part, the new president stated how pleased he is with this new appointment: “I am very excited to be the new president of the Lions club for the next 12 months, I will work hard hand in hand with the Foreigners Department to help our collective and do everything we can”.
Social Secretary send off
What a send off David Kay received when he handed over his duties as the La Cala Lions Club Social Secretary recently at The Times Bar in La Cala to a standing ovation. Over 70 people attended, John Sharples as usual kept the fun and games going throughout the evening and 1000 euros was raised for the Lions to enable them to help those in need. Colin from the Times Bar gave us his usual good service with a touch of scottish humour thrown in! David is now looking forward to his coming year as President of the La Cala Lions. We all wish him the very best and thank all our supporters and Sponsors for their generosity, PCC Wealth especially for topping up our raffle funds to enable us to reach 1000 euros for the event.
