Last Saturday, June 26th, the obligation to wear the mask in outdoor public spaces, whenever it is possible to respect the sanitary distance of one and a half metres, was revoked by decision of the Council of Ministers. However, that does not imply that whoever wants to cannot continue to wear it for greater security and peace of mind.
But what was the atmosphere like on the first day of this new step towards normalcy in our town? Well, caution prevailed and the vast majority of those walking the streets of Mijas were still wearing their masks. Many of those who are committed to continuing to wear it think that the approved measure is somewhat premature. However, for other citizens this initiative goes far beyond the mere fact of breathing better and symbolizes greater freedom and a symbol that the health situation improves day by day.
Although not everyone thinks the same, what all the citizens do agree on is that they want to remove their mask and, at the same time, for caution to be valued. With the advancement in the vaccination campaign, the future, in any case, looks somewhat more hopeful.
