The Department for Transport and Mobility of the Mijas Town Hall, in collaboration with the Consortium of Metropolitan Transport of Malaga, continues to reinforce the schedules of the bus lines that operate in the municipality.
The councillor for Transport and Mobility, Nicolás Cruz (PSOE), reported on Tuesday the improvements to the public bus service provided in Mijas. To begin with, the M-112 line, which runs from Mijas to Malaga, increases its number of routes from two to four. "It is an eminently tourist line that brings visitors from Malaga to Mijas and vice versa, and whose frequency will be from Monday to Friday, without itineraries on weekends and holidays", explained the councillor.
For its part, the M-121 line, which connects Mijas with Torremolinos, will increase the routes available from 16 to 20 from Monday to Friday, while on weekends and holidays it will provide 10 routes, five one-way and five return trips. "In this way, we will ensure the connection with another tourist municipality as is Torremolinos, and the bus also stops in Benalmádena", added Cruz.
Extension of the schedules of lines M-112 and M-121
The councillor also recalled that last week the schedules of the Las Lagunas circular lines were reinforced, as well as the lines that connect Mijas with the municipalities of Fuengirola and Coín. This extension of the public transport offer, as explained by Cruz, will be carried out progressively, as the sanitary conditions improve, once the state of alarm has ended. “Above any commercial interest of whatever service provider, we will try to adapt to the real needs of the municipality, both when speaking about the service offered to the residents and the coverage offered to visitors and tourists who, hopefully, will soon be arriving more often to enjoy Mijas”, concluded the councillor.
