The platform is a more comfortable and easy way, as no prior appointment is needed

The Local Government in Mijas reminded residents on Wednesday 26th that if they do not have the receipt of their taxes domiciled, they can pay them through the platform pagosexpress.mijas.es, an application that was enabled by the Mijas Town Hall last year due to the pandemic in order to avoid crowds and queues in municipal offices.  “It is a very easy-to-use application, with which any resident from his or her home, through a QR code that can be scanned on the informative posters provided in the municipal offices or through the different media of Mijas Comunicación, will be able to comply with the payment of their tax obligations”, explained the councillor for the Treasury, Roy Pérez (PSOE), who pointed out that only IBI, Rubbish and vehicle taxes (IVTM) can be paid through this platform. The Local Government estimates that 50% of the tax payments will be carried out by residents from their homes. For his part, the councillor for New Technologies in Mijas, Nicolás Cruz (PSOE), valued the effort made by the department to implement this type of options, while explaining the virtues of this platform: “It is very easy to use, very intuitive, designed for people who usually do not carry out online procedures, since they only need their ID, email, date of birth or identification of the last receipt that they want to consult to access the platform, and it is not necessary to have a digital certificate or ID”.
Once we choose the tax we want to pay, we can proceed to carry out the payment directly or obtain a receipt to do so through an ATM. The objective of the government team is to provide citizens with facilities, explained councillors Pérez and Cruz: “It is not a matter of collecting earlier or more, but of avoiding queues and improving the convenience for citizens”. Those residents who want to know more about how this platform works can access the Mijas Town Hall website (www.mijas.es) and follow the instructions provided in a video tutorial (mijas.es/portal/eventos/tutorial-pagos-express/). The period for the voluntary payment of taxes will expire on the 22nd of November.
