The Regional Government in Andalusia informed this week that all the health districts of the province of Malaga go down to health alert level 1 for COVID-19, since this Thursday, 20th of May. This will mean the relaxation of some of the sanitary measures imposed to prevent the spread of coronavirus until now.
The most important one is the extension of the capacity allowed in catering establishments, which recover 100% of the space on terraces with up to 10 persons per table. Inside, the capacity allowed will be 75%, with up to eight persons per table. Consumption will now be allowed at the bar and the buffet services will once again be enabled, as long as the distance of 1.5 metres is maintained between diners in different groups. The closing time for restaurants will continue to be 00.00 hours. Another novelty is the reopening of dance floors in pubs and discos, as long as they are located in outdoor spaces and the attendees wear masks. As announced by the president of the Regional Government, Juanma Moreno, this could only be possible when reaching health alert level 1. The closing times for nightlife venues will continue to be up to 02.00 hours, until further notice. Health alert level 1 also brings changes as regards celebrations, such as weddings, which may now have a capacity of 75% and 300 people (8 per table) indoors. In addition, 100% of the guests, up to 500 people will be able to attend outdoors.
Cinemas, theatres and other performances may reach 85% of the capacity, as long as attendees are seated and groups do not exceed six people. This measure is not extended to bullfighting shows, as they maintain a capacity of 60%. Wakes will be able to accommodate 20 people indoors, 30 outdoors and 50 in the entourage. 75% capacity will be allowed at religious ceremonies. Regarding tourism, this new phase allows 100% of the capacity in common and outdoor areas of hotels and 75% indoors, and groups of up to 25 people in visits with tourist guides and up to 30 if it is in natural surrounding will be allowed. Areas reserved for sports activities areas may occupy up to 75% of the capacity and up to 20 people can participate indoors and 85% outdoors, up to a maximum of 25 people. Competitions with public are limited to 1,500 people indoors and 2,500 outdoors. COVID Data Regarding the information related to the evolution of the pandemic, the contagion rate per 100,000 inhabitants in the last 14 days continues to rise and stood on Thursday 20th at 133.5 compared to 127.6 on Thursday 13th. In the last seven days, 53 positive cases have been recorded in the municipality town, three more than those recorded the previous week. The number of deaths recorded in Mijas since the start of the pandemic has remained at 41 for several weeks. Likewise, 139 patients have overcome the virus in the last week.
