Mijas is once again offering the Andalucía Orienta programme until the 31st of July. The service is aimed at unemployed people registered with the Andalusian Employment Service and provides assistance to users on the ground floor of the Employment Promotion building in Las Lagunas. There, three technicians and an assistant will advise unemployed people in their active search for a job. The professionals are available by appointment, which must be requested by calling 952 66 75 46 or 951 26 02 83.

The mayoress of Mijas, Ana Mata (PP), assured that “in Mijas we are very committed to offering the best opportunities to our residents. That is why we attach great importance to supporting the people of Mijas in identifying their skills when it comes to starting to build or reorient their professional future”, said the mayoress.

 

For his part, the councillor for Employment Promotion, Juan Carlos Maldonado (PMP), recalled that “we are once again implementing this programme with a grant of 128,500 euros from the awarding body, the Andalusian Employment Service, which depends on the Regional Ministry of Employment, Business and Self-Employment.  Four people have been hired in different positions, which allows us to meet the objectives established for the service, 3,450 hours of direct assistance or a group of between 800 and 1,000 users during this time”. The councillor also highlighted that “the programme is very ambitious and has a fundamental objective, which is the integration of unemployed Mijeños into the labour market”.   

Guidance service

This programme provides citizens with a guidance service for the unemployed, the purpose of which is to support the active population in their integration into the labour market by advising them on their job search. These actions are carried out individually or in groups, taking into account the user’s profile, needs, and personal qualities.

The service will be active until July and, among the services it offers, are advice on job search techniques, information on resources and training, training guidance, monitoring of personalised job placement plans, and support in writing a CV and preparing for job interviews.

 

Juan Carlos Maldonado encouraged all residents registered with the SAE to come by and make use  of these services and join the Andalucía Orienta programmes, which, he added, “have a high rate of job placement”.
