In view of the inclement weather alert situation, the Mijas Town Hall has temporarily set up two sheds at the racecourse to provide shelter for equines, thus attending to those residents of the municipality who need it.
This measure, coordinated by Civil Protection and the Department of Livestock, responds to the urgency of protecting the animals and ensuring adequate shelter and is aimed at residents who do not have a safe space to shelter their animals.
The councillor for Civil Protection, Francisco Jerez (Vox), explained that "our aim is to offer an immediate response to protect both the animals and the families who depend on them".
The councillor has also appealed to the residents of Mijas to contact Civil Protection to organise the reception and temporary stay of their equines at the racecourse if they need this help. "The safety and welfare of our residents and their animals is a priority for this Town Hall. This is an emergency measure and we hope that it will help to alleviate the worries of those who need it most at this time", added the councillor.
This initiative, says the councillor, is part of the "commitment" of the Mijas Town Hall to safety and animal welfare, and is part of the preventive measures to support the livestock community in the municipality during inclement weather.
