The establishment, which is committed to sustainability and innovation, has created around 60 jobs since its opening

The official inauguration of the Costa del Sol Glamping Village took place on Thursday 26th, with the traditional ribbon cutting by the authorities. The event was attended by prominent local and regional figures, including the mayoress of Mijas, Ana Mata (PP), the president of the Malaga Provincial Council, Francisco Salado, and the mayoress of Fuengirola, Ana Mula. Also present were businessmen and executives from companies in the tourism sector at national and international level.

The mayoress of Mijas wanted to highlight the importance that the opening of new establishments has for the development of tourism in the municipality, as they "give many Mijeños the opportunity to work" and valued the concept of sustainability and respect for the environment of the project, which invites you to disconnect. "The aim is to disconnect from all the stress we suffer, to enjoy with our family, with our partner, in an environment in which they have taken care of all the trees that were originally here and in a very natural environment so that we can enjoy the need we have as human beings to find ourselves and enjoy ourselves, forgetting all the stress that day to day life entails", said Mata.

Glamping concept

Three months after its opening, the new establishment has generated almost 60 jobs, contributing to the economic growth of Mijas and arrives with the clear objective, "to become a benchmark for tourism at national and international level". According to the data provided by its managers, more than 1,500 families of 32 different nationalities have already enjoyed its facilities. These figures support the good occupancy figures that the municipality of Mijas has registered this season. In this regard, the president of the Málaga Provincial Council, Francisco Salado, highlighted the increase in international tourism "which has come and has grown by more than 7% on the Costa del Sol". He also pointed out the need for this type of sustainable establishments because "when looking for an experience or a motivation to come to a destination, the criterion of sustainability is increasingly taken into account by tourists", explained Salado.

The attendees, which included the councillors of the government team Mario Bravo (PP), Francisco Jerez (Vox) and Juan Carlos Maldonado (PMP), were able to discover first-hand the facilities of the complex, the different types of accommodation available and the Gastro Suel restaurant, open also to non-guests, which is committed to the fusion of traditional Andalusian gastronomy with contemporary touches.

The complex has more than 40,000 m2, with a total of 165 different accommodation units, from the tipi, which is the glamping concept, and the tent, to bungalows of different capacities. It also includes different entertainment services for children and adults, gym, swimming pool, spa and sports facilities. Pet Friendly accommodation is also available, all aimed at clients seeking greater privacy, calm and comfort.
