The Operational Services of Mijas Town Hall have been responsible for carrying out the comprehensive renovation of the pavement of the La Sierrezuela avenue, work that the residents have been demanding for some time and which began at the beginning of June with an investment of 130,000 euros. The work has been carried out on some 800 square metres and has focused on remodelling the pavement, as well as improving the accessibility elements, eliminating architectural barriers, adapting the pedestrian ramps and implementing tactile paving for the visually impaired. At the same time, the slopes of the ramps have been corrected to facilitate the circulation of people with reduced mobility.

The lampposts in the area have also been replaced with low-consumption lights which, as well as reducing electricity consumption, help the environment by reducing gas emissions. In addition, the existing tree pits have been improved by enlarging them and applying drainage paving to optimise watering, aesthetics and maintenance.
This action is part of the first phase of a remodelling project for the area; the second phase is currently underway.
Better services
According to municipal sources, it should be remembered that the Town Hall is constantly remodelling pavements, as is the case with the work carried out on the boulevard of La Cala and Calle Torrox, as well as other roads in the area.
